Accueil » SpeedE range: Motorisation to improve ergonomics and prevent MSDs in the hospital sector
At Acime, we are convinced that healthy care teams are essential to providing quality care. With our SpeedE range, we offer motorised solutions that reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) while optimising the day-to-day work of healthcare professionals.
MSDs are the leading cause of compensation for occupational disease in France. This is even more marked in the healthcare and medico-social sector, where the proportion of MSDs among recognised occupational illnesses is 95%1 (compared with an average of 88% for all sectors of activity)2.
MSDs are a burden for workers and organisations alike. In the short term, they lead to work stoppages and disorganise teams. In the long term, they can become a source of disability and unfitness for work, jeopardising the continuity of jobs and services. Hospital workforces are already under strain, so it’s vital for healthcare organisations to make ergonomic changes to workstations to keep MSDs to a minimum.
Since 2021, the Assurance Maladie’s TMS Pros programme has been supporting companies to help them prevent MSDs3:
These devices are designed to support hospitals and clinics in improving working conditions and reducing risks.
Healthcare professionals are particularly affected by MSDs, and manual handling of patients is a major risk factor. Motorisation of patient transfer equipment such as stretchers is a practical solution for reducing physical strain on hospital staff.
The introduction of motorised stretchers has reduced the incidence of MSD among paramedical staff by up to 78%4. The pressure exerted on the spinal column when using a motorised stretcher is much reduced compared with a conventional stretcher5. Although the investment in motorised equipment is substantial, it is estimated to pay for itself in 7 years4. Motorised stretcher trolleys in hospital departments have demonstrated their effectiveness in reducing the number of sick days and the costs associated with occupational illnesses 6,7.
Designed to meet the demands of hospital services, the SpeedE range revolutionises patient transport thanks to:
At Acime, we are helping to improve working conditions while putting patients at the heart of our priorities.
